A Hybrid Swipe Fingerprint Mosaicing Scheme
نویسندگان
چکیده
Due to their very small contact areas and low cost, swipe fingerprint sensors provide the very convenient and reliable fingerprint security solutions and are being increasingly used for mobile phones, PDAs, portable computers and security applications. In this paper, the minimum mean absolute error as the registration criterion is used to find an integer translation shift while the extension of the phase correlation method with singular value decomposition is applied to evaluate a noninteger translation shift. Based on the merits and faults of these two methods, we develop a hybrid swipe fingerprint mosaicing scheme. The proposed scheme succeeds in registering swipe fingerprint frames with small overlap down to 5% of the frame size and improves the mosaicing precision, that is, non-integer translation shift can be directly determined without spatial domain interpolation. Experimental data indicate that our scheme has high reliability and precision and less time consumption, therefore, it is very suitable for the real-time applications.

Fingerprint Mosaicing Using Thin Plate Splines
We discuss a fingerprint mosaicing scheme to construct a composite fingerprint image using multiple impressions of the same finger. The composite image is expected to contain more information (e.g., minutiae) compared to the individual impressions thereby improving matching accuracy. The novelty of the proposed algorithm lies in its ability to account for the elastic deformation present in cons...

متن کاملImage versus feature mosaicing: A case study in fingerprints
Fingerprint mosaicing entails the reconciliation of information presented by two or more impressions of a finger in order to generate composite information. It can be accomplished by blending these impressions into a single mosaic, or by integrating the feature sets (viz., minutiae information) pertaining to these impressions. In this work, we use Thin-plate Splines (TPS) to model the relative ...
